Walking around with Barefoot

I saw this kid in the bridge that connects Navotas and Malabon, walking and holding a pack of Milk. this kid bought it in “Pamilihang Bayan ng Malabon”. what I’ve notice is that he’s walking with bare foot and reminds me of the people who spared their homes and properties during the time of Ondoy. Navotas was not hardly hit by Ondoy. Many thanks to Mayor Toby Tiangco who responsibly took care our town by continuously released the water in the river using the “Boombastik” Navotas Pumping Station.

Navotas Pumping Station

this picture left me some question about the life here in our town. I know living here is so simple. we have no hospital or a big malls around the place. we don’t need to use a car to go to the market because market is just across the street and some sari sari store is everywhere. I remember when i was a kid my dad thought me the proper way of using the footwear. i often mismatch my pair of slippers and he got angry that lead me to be bashed.. hehehe my dad is really a strict father. He told me that if you go somewhere make sure to wear shoes, because thats the proper way of presenting yourself outside. wearing shoes became a social status. But now slippers is a fashion statement that you can even wear it even in some social events. thats why Havaianas became a number 1 footwear in the country.. everyone posses a pair of this rubber slippers if not for sure they got the Havanas one.. hehehe the fake version of Havaianas.

In the Typhoon Ondoy Relief operations one thing they give to the people is a pair of slippers. Navotas was never strucked by Ondoy that bad. but this kid doesn’t have one. is this really a social status that Navotas is a poor town that most of the residents miss to wear a pair of footwear. I hope Korina Sanchez who give slippers in her show “Rated K” will see this photo and burdened to give footwear for the people in this town.

Dawn in Pinoy Big Brother Houses

Last Sunday the Magic Reveals in the House of Kuya to start the 3rd season of PINOY BIG BROTHER. The show wasn’t that amazing but in the end the tension went on hype when the two fair of twins went inside the house. The twins gave meaning to what they call “DOUBLE UP”. To make it short I used to watch it and for five consecutive days I never missed any episode of it even the UBER and late night show.

As what I expected PBB Double Up will give “again” a house from Saint Monique Valais. I’d been there and stayed for almost a week because a friend lives there and I must say I know what life is waiting for them in PBB village.

Saint Monique Valais is a community located in a valley where you can find peace and relaxation (yeah right I need to get out of the village to buy some stuff if the village store is close). The Village also houses the most distinguished school within the vicinity, Le Clole du St. Monique. The village is huge approximately 200 hectares area of land situated in Barangay Pantok and Darangan, Binangonan, Rizal.

Then, why do am I saying this? This is what first thing that comes out in my mind when the PHOTO FRIDAY sent me the latest theme for the week. The theme for the week is DAWN I think of the metaphorical meaning for dawn that I might have on my chest of photos but none of it fits the criteria. Then I literally posting this picture of DAWN in Pinoy Big Brother Houses which i took few months ago.

Dark: MERALCO Poor Services

Dark

Upon moving my photo blog here in my main domain I changed my Logo, so this is the first post to be using my new LOGO. This post is the first time that I’ll contribute a photo for VFXY theme. This week Theme is DARK. I dug my huge file of photos to see if I have a picture that represents DARK.

“Darkness is the absence of light. Scientifically it is only possible to have a reduced amount of light.”

In my place we normally experience “Blackout” or electrical power failure. This started to happen when our electrical power supplier MERALCO reconfigure the way to supply power in our town to emit the irresponsible people who stole electricity by tapping wires directly to main line going to their homes. But instead of preventing thieves, it prevented us to get a good services. The main electrical post blows up and cut the supply in my vicinity. Normally this power failure last for 4-6 hours. But recently it getting worst we get 3 power failures in a week, and the worst incident happened on August 21 to 23, 2009. We been out of supply started at 10:00 pm August 21, 2009 then resume power on August 22, 2009, 2:00 pm followed a power failure again at 5:00 pm then hardly resumes at 9:00 am August 23, 2009. Between those dates we just receive 3 hours of services from MERALCO. What kind of services did this monopolist company confer to us? In fact they should bestow us a rebate for giving us poor services. We all know how important electricity to us especially to Elders, sick people and children not to mention the small businesses that electricity is needed. Do they know how much these small businesses lose in their earnings every hour of interrupted services they can give? Do they know how much stress it gave to bread winners of each home that suppose to be rewarded with a restful night? Do they know how traumatic to children to be in a DARK and deep silence? Do MERALCO know how much money it will cost to redeem a life of a near death person in the hospital due to Stroke because of heat? With the increasing price of electricity and the unexplainable charges MERALCO are charging us we, as customers deserve some A1 satisfaction. On a scale of 1-10 ill give them nothing. What is wrong with the management? They monopolize the energy industry and we get no happiness from them and they repay us with poor service and an overpriced bill.We have not yet started with astronomic deposits that are refundable after a decade or so.

The emotional response to an absence of light has inspired metaphor in literature, symbolism in art, and emphasis.
MERALCO’s tag line is “May Liwanag ang Buhay” (there is radiance in life). Here I’m posting a Photo of fading plants with a little elimination that represent DARK ness and the services MERALCO provides us.

PHOTO HUNT 001: ROCK(s) – Rock Tummy

Rock Tummy

A friend told me about this online community PhotoHunt where you can post pictures with a certain theme every week. I get excited and willing to participate. Now i can post according to the scheduled task. This week Theme is “ROCK(s)”. this is my first time and I don’t want to be literal to what the theme is asking for. So i think of something different but still meets the qualification. i think of a craft that is made of Rock.

Working in an Interior Design firm influenced me alot specially in my beliefs. I’d been believing in superstition.. one thing that makes me fanned of is Fung Sui.when i was in College Feng Sui has been part of the syllabus for Theory of Architecture 2. We just tackled the principle of Feng Sui and some useful solutions. I never Imagined that this Subject will be useful in my job…Most of our clients believes in Feng Sui. So i incorporate my design according to this principle or else when the Geomancer came in the site, all drawings will be back in the office for alteration. as much as possible this things must be prevented. I used to read the daily Elemental balance just to make sure that i wear the right color the day. i even exchange the room where i sleep. or i even change the color of my room. i eat the perfect food as well.

According to the Feng Sui i am a brown rabbit born in the year of the water pig, my lucky element is fire. i should wear red color clothes often. my desk should face north and i must choose a room in the north. these are the things that suggested for me to do, but actually there are still several more things i should follow.

A friend gave me this laughing Buddah sculpture, made of river rock from Vietnam. He said that this will give me luck. if i want something just touch the tummy and wish for something and it will be granted. he also said it will ease my sadness, since it’s a laughing Buddah. well my question is “Am I Lucky?”
